explore can be created by following these steps
- Select the type of report
- Select the items you want to use for the report
- Configure the report items

Select the type of report
First, select "Blank" from the types of explore, which is suitable for time series reports.

Select Dimensions
After selecting "Blank," first select the "Dimensions" to be used in the report.

On the "Variables" tab, select the "+" to the right of "Dimensions.

Type "date" in the search window at the top of the page, check the box for the date that appears in the list, and then select "Import" in the upper right corner. Then follow the same procedure to import the two dimensions below.

- Year

When the selected "date," "month," and "year" appear as shown in the capture below, you are done.
Select Metrics
Once you have finished adding "dimensions," select the next "metrics" to be used in the report.

On the "Variables" tab, select the "+" to the right of "metrics."

Enter "New users" in the search window at the top of the page, check the box for "New users" that appears in the list, and then select "Import" in the upper right corner. Then follow the same procedure to import all the following indicators.
- Active users
- New users
- Sessions
- Views
- Engagement rate
- Average engagement time per session
- Session conversion rate
- Conversions
Step3
When all selected metrics are displayed as shown in the capture below, you are done.
Configure the report items
Once you have added the items you want to use in the report, you can actually create the report. If you set up the following, you will end up with a monthly report and a daily report, as shown in the capture below.
Monthly Report Setup
- Rows: Year, Month
- Columns: none
- Values: Active users, New users, Sessions, Views, Engagement rate, Average engagement time per session, Session conversion rate, Conversions.
Daily Report Setup
- Rows: Date
- Columns: none
- Values: Active users, New users, Sessions, Views, Engagement rate, Average engagement time per session, Session conversion rate, Conversions.
The created reports can be shared with relevant parties.
Notes on monthly and daily reports using explore
While the "Explore" can be used for segments, it should be used with caution because of the following limitations
- Historical data can only go back 14 months
- With Sampling (What is sampling?)
- Can only be shared on a "read" basis and can only be viewed by users with permissions on the target GA4 property
