Advantages of using Looker Studio for GA4 E-Commerce Reporting

Data can be obtained in the past 14 months.

First of all, in the GA4 administration screen, only the "Exploratory Report" allows users to set their own items, and the only way to create reports on the GA4 administration screen is to use this Exploratory Report. However, exploratory reports are currently used for personal analysis, and are difficult to use them creating reports due to various restrictions.

For instance, while reports other than GA4's exploratory reports can select data for the entire period regardless of the data retention period, exploratory reports are affected by the data retention period. For example, a common graph such as a year-on-year comparison of the number of sessions In the past year would require data for the past 24 months, which is not possible with the exploratory report.

The Looker Studio is not affected by the data retention period and can produce the time-series reports.

Complimentary daily reports and automatically updated.

Reports created in the Looker Studio are automatically updated when created, eliminating the need to create a large number of reports at the start of every month. In addition, users can modify the time period displayed in the report and use filters to narrow the focus of the report, and the interactive dashboard features are enhanced.

Over 800 different connectors for connection to various data.

More than 800 connectors are available, including GA4, Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads, and other Google-based media, as well as advertising data such as Facebook ads and Yahoo ads, and SNS data such as Instagram and Twitter. The data of various services can be connected.
This allows you to create a single report that combines data from GA4, Search Console, and Google Ads.

Can be shared in various ways, including automatic email and PDF download.

The Looker Studio, like a spreadsheet, allows anyone to access the latest data by sharing a URL. The data can also sent automatically by email each morning to concerned parties with the previous day's performance data, or downloaded in PDF format for use as reporting materials.

Steps to create a GA4 report in Looker Studio

Using Looker Studio is very simple: create a data source, then create a report using that data source, and when the report is complete, share it.

Select "Google Analytics" from the screen of connectors list.

Select the target GA4 account

Once you have granted the Looker Studio access to your Google Analytics account, you will see the Google Analytics account properties view available. For GA4, there is no view, so as shown in the figure below, select the property that begins with GA4|. Select it and choose "Connect" in the upper right corner.

Make sure you're signed in to a Google account with Google Analytics privileges for the subject you wish to report on.Please work only with the Google account above connected(all other Google accounts need to log out). Google may not be able to switch to the desired Google account.

You have now successfully created your GA4 data source.

After the connection, you will be redirected to the list of fields screen as indicated in the figure below, and you have completed the creation of the data source. Select "Create Report" in the upper right corner to proceed to creating the report.

Create a GA4 report according to the data source you created.

Changing the tab on the editing screen to "Style" will switch to the design settings screen. You can customize colors and sizes of graphs, fonts, backgrounds, etc. in detail, So let's create a graph that is easy to read.

This time, I designed a dark version with a dark background.
